Welcome to the website for the Alberta and Saskatchewan Region of the Siberian Husky Club of Canada!
We hope that this website will help you to learn about the unique characteristics of this wonderful breed, and to prepare prospective owners for bringing a Siberian into their home! If you are looking for a Siberian Husky to add to your family, please make sure to check out our About Siberians page to learn about the breed and our Find a Puppy page to start your search!
As a division of the Siberian Husky Club of Canada, we are governed by the by-laws of the parent club and by its Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct.
Our purpose is "to promote responsible breeding practices in order to protect the breed's standards, the breed's physical and mental health and the breed's traditional overall working qualities." (From the Siberian Husky Club of Canada Website.) We exist to educate the public about the breed, it's capabilities and challenges, and to provide a haven for Siberian enthusiasts across the Nation. The club is open to all fanciers of the breed, from the average pet owner to the serious show or sledding kennel.
Our Region's goals are as follows: To unite the community of Siberian Husky fanciers, from the pet owner to the serious show/sledding kennel. To provide breed education for the public and direct potential pet owners towards reputable breeders. To open the eyes of the public and fanciers alike to the numerous abilities of the Siberian, from sledding, to showing, to obedience, to agility. To foster camaraderie between fanciers of all types in order to preserve and protect the Siberian Husky breed.
